hakone

Once again some photos this time from Hakone:

hakone

Hakone is a probably best place near Tokyo to go to Onsen. Those are natue hot springs and what’s more thy are surrounded by mountains. You sit outside in hot water and admire beautiful views.
We did 3 onsens. There are also usually saunas jacuzzi and etc. Onsens are organized in a nice matter. There are resting rooms, special private rooms and private baths. Sometimes you can stay there overnight and experience amazing dinner. I haven’t done yet overnight stay, but i hope i will be do it soon with someone. My friends did it and all were super happy about it.

One more interesting thing about Hakone is that some scenes from Neon Genesis Evangelion were based on actual landscape of Hakone. You can get special Evnagelion map and check all those spots. Here is more info and pictures showing resemblance:

Hakone is also famous for black eggs and observing spots for Fuji mountain:

Except for that there is a famous hakone open art museum with lots of interesting exhibitons and this amazing playground:

And it would be cool to have such a table & bench in my hometown garden:

Bat For Lashes – Laura

For those who don’t know. There is a new  upcomingalbum from Bat for Lashes – ” The Haunted Man”, this is the first available video from this LP. You can already pre-order it online, but its a pity cause i don’t have a LP player in Japan so i guess i will just have to send it back home.

I love it, it is very gentle, slow and simply beautifully shot with all those reflections. And of course there is always beautiful Natasha singing and dancing. It somehow reminds me of home.  I guess i just miss going to theaters, those lights and atmosphere. I want to dance with someone slowly on a table.

There is also sth about songs with a name in the title, I always seem to love them.(Daniel, Cecilia, Adelaide…) It’s like I am hearing stories of unknown people I want to meet.

Drape your arms around me and softly say
Can we dance upon the tables again?

Korean adventures

Again updating old photos. This time I went to Korea in July with friends from Keio. Here is the link:

Korea-July2012

It was really nice, we spend days in Seul, Busan and then on one of the top10 “secret” islands in the world- Ulleungdo.
We were the only foreigners there, so it was quite funny to try to communicate with them, cause of course nobody could speak English.

Maybe you have heard the story about Japan fighting with Korea over an Island and its next to Ulleungdo, its called Takeshima or Dogdo. There were some local patriots wearing shirt saying “Dogdo is Korean” or sth like that.
The truth is that it belonged territorialy to Japan and i guess 20-30 years ago Korean government send there a man-fisherman and is wife to watch over this small island. now there are more people, but only Korean. Funny and interesting story, you can check it online.

Anyway i spend too much time in Seul, nice city, but you can feel like you are in Europe. Korea is growing super stop and doesnt seem to stop, so its getting richer & richer. There are plenty of nice places to eat, shop, drink and have fun. Even though its not a popular travel destination so the government tries its best to promote its country. There were even free buses from Seul to some remote places just to promote other areas except Seul.

About the island. It was ultimately amazing. IT is a volcanic island with beautiful landscapes, mountains and its still quite wild in the forest. We did some walking among the shore of the island, you can check it on pictures.

Water was super blue and you could see everything in a range of many meteres.

And one day we spend on climbing to the top.

We did pretty good job in a nice time taking into consideration the fact that we started at worst time ever – around 12/13. And first hour was not in the forest, so we quickly got suntan.

WE also did some hitchiking. it was pretty easy, people were friendly even though they couldnt speak english at all.  And here is one of the sunsets we had:

And a postcard from me to you. It was really amazing.

reason

bo bez niego byłabym inna i pewnie nie byłabym tu.

one of the reasons I am here is this Mr & his music. He led me through my life since I was in high school. RIP dear Nujabes

Last week museums update

Muzealne spacery

Jednak w okolicy bylo duzo takich malych galerii, wiec wedrowalam dalej.

/Last week I visited some galleries in Ginza(rich people favourite shopping place), unfortunatelly the one that i was waiting the most (old olympic posters exhibition0 was some kind of a dissapointment, but i still managed to see some interesting pieces in other places.

KIM Yisu & acryl

O dziwo spodobala mi sie wystawa Koreanskiej artystki Kim, maluje ona linie na akrylowych panelach i pozniej je laczy, albo maluje specjalne nito-zylki i wstawia do akryla. Mila poswiata, fajnie byloby cos takiego zrobic u siebie w lazience. Ponizej kiepskie zdjecia z telefonu

/ Below you can poor pictures taken with my phone of some pieces of art from Korean woman named Kim Yisu. She uses an acryl panel or mylar one as buttress. She paints lines on the back and front of pane in monotone colors, and lays them two-ply or three-ply. Then panels form layer. Kim’s artwork is a painting on panel but layer of panel brings deep within it. They look amazing combined next to each other so it feels a if your eyes have problem with catching focus. I want to use this idea when i will make my bathroom in the future.

Groovisions

Kolejna zamykajaca sie zeszlego tygodnia wystawa, Groovisions lesson 2012.

/ Another exhibition was a series of human figures and graphic designs that were designed by a studio based in Tokyo. Check they work online. And there was also great posssibilities to creat your own groovision-human, which will be later transfered to your super personal business cards. Great idea!

Swastyki w sztuce

/Next one was pretty strange, cause the artist sculptures are made out of swastika-shaped blocks or just painted in this manner.;

IKIRO to znaczy Żyj/ BE alive

Od 15 lat pisze on wyraz ikiro co oznacza żyj/ be alive .

/Another artist – Takahiro Suzuki has been writing the word ikiro (be alive) everyday for 15 years already. He did many exhibitions in different parts of the word and now tries to help and teach kids hot to use art. He said that thanks to this project he become who he is now and it helped him doing other creating works. I hope i can meet him again.

Hermes – Cloud Cities

Ostatnia warta wpisu wystawa miala miejsce na ostatnim pietrze jednego z bardziej interesujacych budynków w Tokyo, cały zrobiony z wielkich luksfer.  Na ostatnim pietrze znajduje się galeria. / One of my faourite buildings in Tokyo- Hermes has a gallery on the top floor which last week was turned into a beautiful cloud city. I would love to live there.

Nie można było robić zdjęć w środku, ale wygladalo to mniej wiecej tak: / Taking photos inside was prohibited but it looked like that;

They created also clouds out of trash bin material and they put a lot of air inside, the effect was quite amazing and you could actually go inside the cloud. Love it!

Historia o parasolce/ short story about umbrella

There were some storms and typhoons during rainy season in Japan. And that’s the result of one day rain

Zdjecia z GoldenWeek/ uploading photos

jakos się dalej wszystko ładnie toczy dookoła. Powoli odgrzewam stare zdjęcia i będę je wrzucała na picasę.
Zdjecia zrobiołam podczas długiego weekendu majowego w Kyoto. Pojechaliśmy tam we 4 i nawet mnie mój drogi kolega Piotr J. przenocował u siebie w akademiku a potem jego przeurocza dziewczyna Chicho ugościła u siebie w mieszkanku.Arigatou!

Kyoto to była stolica Japonii, miasto z dawnym duchem Japonii. Niska, stara zabudowa, pełno Świątyń i przeuroczych miejsc. I tętniąca życiem rzeka i jej okolice, pełne miłych ludzi każdego wieczoru. Polecam.

Kyoto – Od Kyoto/Nara/Osaka-GoldenWeek

A to słynne miejsce z miejsce – Fushimi Inari Shrine, też w Kyoto. Warto zobaczyć tysiace tori i pochodzic sobie po gorkach i pagorkach.

Spędziliśmy też trochę czasu w Osace i Narze. Zostaliśmy zaproszeni do domu koleżanki i zrobiliśmy pyszne takoyaki, czyli kawałki ośmiornicy z warzywkami w takim cieście trochę naleśnikowym. Kocham takoyaki i nawet przewracanie mi dobrze wychodzi.

Osaka

a to Nara i żyjace sobie w niej jelonki, ktore nie spoczna poki nie zjedza wszystkich dostepnych wafli dookola.

Od Kyoto/Nara/Osaka-GoldenWeek
